[/fusion_title][fusion_text] Η πρακτική του ταϊλανδέζικου μασάζ (thai massage) ξεκίνησε πριν από περίπου 2000 χρόνια. Αποτελεί ένα μοναδικό είδος θεραπείας τόσο για το σώμα όσο και για την ψυχή που ενσωματώνει ορισμένες από τις βασικές αρχές, μεταξύ άλλων, της κινέζικης και της ινδικής ιατρικής. Στο μασάζ αυτό γίνονται κινήσεις, πιέσεις και διατάσεις καθώς και περιστροφές. Με αυτό τον τρόπο δεν γίνεται μασάζ μόνο στο εξωτερικό μέρος του σώματος αλλά και στα εσωτερικά όργανα.  Ο θεραπευτής είναι στο ίδιο επίπεδο με τον θεραπευόμενο και χρησιμοποιεί τα δάχτυλα, τις παλάμες, τους αγκώνες, τα πέλματα και τα γόνατα σε συγκεκριμένα σημεία του σώματος στα οποία ρέει η ενέργεια και τα οποία συνδέονται μεταξύ τους. Αν και η πίεση μπορεί να προκαλέσει μια μικρή ενόχληση , τελικά επαναφέρει την χαμένη ισορροπία στο σώμα. Να σημειωθεί ότι το μασάζ γίνεται με ελαφρύ ρουχισμό καθώς δεν απαιτείται η χρήση ελαίων ή άλλων προιόντων.
