[/fusion_title][fusion_text] Μια δεκαετία επιπλέον χωρίς σοβαρά προβλήματα υγείας, μας προσφέρουν πέντε έξυπνες συνήθειες, αρκεί να μας γίνουν τρόπος ζωής και να τις ακολουθούμε πιστά, σύμφωνα με νέα επιστημονική έρευνα. Μάλιστα οι γυναίκες μπορούν να προσθέσουν περισσότερα χρόνια υγιούς ζωής (δέκα) σε σχέση με τους άνδρες (επτά). Τα πέντε «μυστικά» είναι:

  • Η υγιεινή διατροφή
  • Η καθημερινή άσκηση (τουλάχιστον μισή ώρα περπατήματα γρήγορο την ημέρα).
  • Το αλκοόλ με μέτρο (έως ένα ποτήρι κρασί την ημέρα οι γυναίκες και δύο ποτήρια οι άνδρες
  • «Όχι» στο κάπνισμα
  • Διατήρηση του βάρους κανονικά επίπεδα (δείκτης μάζας σώματος 18,5 έως 25).

Αυτές οι καλές συνήθειες  μας προστατεύουν για μια μια δεκαετία από καρδιοπάθειες, καρκίνους και σακχαρώδη διαβήτη. Και επειδή η πρόληψη είναι η αρχή του παντός,  όσο πιο νωρίς εφαρμόσετε τις πέντε παραπάνω συνήθειες, τόσο το καλύτερο.

Η μελέτη

Οι ερευνητές, με επικεφαλής τον καθηγητή επιδημιολογίας Φρανκ Χου της Σχολής Δημόσιας Υγείας του Πανεπιστημίου Χάρβαρντ των ΗΠΑ, που έκαναν τη σχετική δημοσίευση στο βρετανικό ιατρικό περιοδικό British Medical Journal (BMJ), ανέλυσαν σε βάθος έως 34 ετών στοιχεία για σχεδόν 73.200 γυναίκες και 38.400 άνδρες. Σύμφωνα με τη μελέτη, αν ένας 50άρης άνδρας τηρεί τουλάχιστον τις τέσσερις από τις πέντε υγιεινές συνήθειες, θα ζήσει κατά μέσο όρο 31,1 χρόνια χωρίς χρόνιες παθήσεις, έναντι 23,5 ετών για όσους άνδρες δεν τηρούν ούτε μία από τις συνήθειες. Δηλαδή οι πρώτοι θα κερδίσουν άλλα επτάμισι χρόνια υγιούς ζωής. Για τις γυναίκες 50 ετών που τηρούν τις τέσσερις από τις πέντε συνήθειες, το όφελος θα είναι ακόμη μεγαλύτερο (πάνω από δέκα έτη), καθώς μπορούν να προσβλέπουν κατά μέσο όρο σε ακόμη 34,4 έτη ζωής χωρίς χρόνιες παθήσεις, έναντι 23,7 ετών για τις γυναίκες που δεν τηρούν ούτε μια υγιεινή συνήθεια. Το μικρότερο προσδόκιμο υγιούς ζωής έχουν οι άνδρες που καπνίζουν πολύ (πάνω από 15 τσιγάρα τη μέρα), καθώς επίσης οι άνδρες και οι γυναίκες με παχυσαρκία (με δείκτη μάζας σώματος άνω του 30).
