[/fusion_title][fusion_text] Οι πολλές ώρες εργασίας μπορεί να οδηγήσουν σε «κρυφά» προβλήματα υγείας που δεν εμφανίζονται ακόμα και σε ιατρικές εξετάσεις, όπως αποκαλύπτει μια νέα επιστημονική έρευνα από τον Καναδά. Ένα από αυτά είναι η υπέρταση. Το συμπέρασμα της εν λόγω μελέτης που πραγματοποιήθηκε από το Πανεπιστήμιο Λαβάλ του Κεμπέκ ήρθε μετά από την μελέτη περισσότερων από 3 χιλιάδων υπαλλήλων που εξετάστηκαν σε βάθος πενταετίας. Κατά τη διάρκεια αυτών των πέντε ετών κλήθηκαν να φοράνε κατά διαστήματα μια συσκευή αυτόματης μέτρησης της πίεσης, κάνοντας έτσι τουλάχιστον 20 μετρήσεις μέσα στη μέρα. Όπως διαπιστώθηκε, όσοι εργάζονταν πάνω από 49 ώρες την εβδομάδα, είχαν κατά μέσο όρο 70% μεγαλύτερη πιθανότητα «κρυφής» υπέρτασης και 66% μεγαλύτερη πιθανότητα μόνιμης, φανερής δηλαδή, υπέρτασης. Επίσης, για όσους εργάζονταν μεταξύ 41 και 48 ωρών, ο κίνδυνος ήταν αυξημένος κατά 54% και 42% αντίστοιχα. Υψηλή θεωρήθηκε η πίεση που ήταν πάνω από 140/90 mmHg σε φάση ηρεμίας και 135/85 στην εργασία. Σχεδόν ένας στους πέντε εργαζόμενους (19%) βρέθηκε να έχει μόνιμη υπέρταση (αρκετοί έπαιρναν ήδη αντι-υπερταστικά φάρμακα), ενώ το 13% «κρυφή», οπότε δεν έπαιρναν φάρμακα. Είναι γνωστό πως η υπέρταση τόσο η «κρυφή» όσο και η φανερή συνδέεται με αυξημένο καρδιαγγειακό κίνδυνο. Σύμφωνα με τους ερευνητές, οι πολλές ώρες εργασίας μπορεί να επηρεάσουν την καρδιά, γι’ αυτό, πρέπει να ελέγχει κανείς συχνά την πίεση του.
