Αυτό επιτυγχάνεται μέσα από την ενεργοποίηση της λέμφου και της αύξησης της ροής του αίματος. Μάλιστα, στην γιόγκα υπάρχουν ορισμένες αποτοξινωτικές κινήσεις- στροφές, πίσω κάμψεις- που μπορεί να κάνει κανείς και έχουν επίδραση στα αντίστοιχα εσωτερικά όργανα που είναι υπεύθυνα για το «καθάρισμα» του οργανισμού.

Ενισχύει την υπομονή

Η γιόγκα βοηθά το μυαλό να ξεφεύγει από τις σκέψεις για το παρελθόν και το μέλλον και μας καλεί να ζούμε την στιγμή. Αυτό επιτυγχάνεται μέσα από την έμφαση που δίνει στις ανάσες κατά τη διάρκεια της πρακτικής.

Εξισορροπεί τις ορμόνες

Η γιόγκα βοηθά το σώμα να επανέλθει σε ισορροπία και ειδικά τα επινεφρίδια που είναι το σύστημα που παράγει σημαντικές ορμόνες. Για παράδειγμα αυτό μπορεί να επιτευχθεί μέσα από τη «στάση του παιδιού» (childs pose) που είναι μία από τις πολλές που αναζωογονούν τα επινεφρίδια.

Αυξάνει την συγκέντρωση

Θα έχεις παρατηρήσει ότι όταν κάνεις γιόγκα πρέπει συνεχώς να έχεις στραμμένη την προσοχή σου σε ένα σημείο και αυτό δεν είναι άλλο από την αναπνοή σου. Μπορείς να ακολουθήσεις αυτή την τακτική και μετά την πρακτική της γιόγκα – ό,τι και να κάνεις να εστιάζεις στην αναπνοή σου – για να έχεις αυξημένη συγκέντρωση όλη την ημέρα.
