Τα δραστήρια παιδιά έχουν καλύτερη επίδοση στο σχολείο, βελτιώνουν την αυτοπεποίθηση και την κοινωνικότητα τους και μειώνουν τις πιθανότητες να εκδηλώσουν διαβήτη, σε σχέση με τα παιδιά που κάνουν καθιστική ζωή. (WHO 2017) Αυτό έδειξαν 2 τελευταίες έρευνες το 2017 πάνω στη ακαδημαϊκή επίδοση, το στρες και τη σύσταση σώματος σε παιδιά προσχολικής-σχολικής ηλικίας. Study 1. Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, 49 (3), 581-87 1. Οι νεαρές ηλικίες 5-17 ετών θα πρέπει, προοδευτικά,να έχουν ως στόχο, 60 λεπτά μέτρια προς έντονη καθημερινή, φυσική δραστηριότητα. Τουλάχιστον 3 φορές την εβδομάδα, η δραστηριότητα ενός παιδιού θα πρέπει να περιλαμβάνει κινήσεις επιβάρυνσης των οστών όπως, τρέξιμο, άλματα και περιστροφικές κινήσεις, οι οποίες δυναμώνουν του μυς και τα κόκαλα. 2. Στον όρο φυσική δραστηριότητα, συμπεριλαμβάνονται αθλήματα, παιχνίδια, δημιουργική απασχόληση, σωματική εκπαίδευση  και σχεδιασμένη προπόνηση. 3.
